IDK, to me "teen love triangle" reads "two people have a rivalry over a third like Twilight," not so much OT3. :-/

Man, Korra is a BAMF, though, omg. (Although I'm still baffled by "The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra." HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE?!)

And "Avatar: Legend of Korra" would make so much more sense.

I am also desperately hoping that title was a typo.

There's literally nothing on nick.com or nicktoons.com about it except on the message boards, where they're calling it Avatar: The Legend of Korra, but that's all fans so not official. IMDB has The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra, and a blurb attributed to Nickelodeon Publicity, but I'm not really sure how authoritative that is either, because nothing else shows up under that attribution, and you'd expect Nickelodeon Publicity to be rather active on a lot of titles, not one paragraph about one title and radio silence otherwise. In a number of other places, I see just a bare Legend of Korra title, which would still be an improvement.

Someone mentioned that they may have lost the rights to "Avatar" because of James Cameron. Don't know if that's true, though.

How is that even possible? >.< Can Cameron really trademark a single word? Especially since it would be part of a longer title? (That's like...George Lucas trademarking "star," and if he could, I'm sure he would.)

Even so, "The Last Airbender" doesn't really make sense when there are at least two airbenders in it. :-/

The number of different works with the title "Magic" on IMDb suggests it's not likely a one-word title could be protected like that. And considering Nickelodeon's use predates Cameron's, I rather think if it were possible the rights would go the other way. So, I'd discount that as rumor, myself.

I'm personally of the camp that states that at some point there had to be some swapping. You can't have a group of people who love each other so much and not have that happen. While they have their partners, I still totally see polyamory happening within Team Avatar.

I am totally ficcing a poly Aang/Katara/Zuko/Mai/Suki chain relationship (with bonus link-crossing as well) RIGHT NOW. (Well, not right now right now, because right now I'm writing this comment. I'm not sure what Van Halen is doing.) I'd probably ship Toph in there somewhere if she didn't reside in "asexual so there :P" land in my head canon.

you know, I can only really think of one love triangle, and even that wasn't much of one (Toph/Sokka/Suki). Perhaps it's due to the fact I'm tired when I type this...

Hm. The one that leaps out at me is Aang/Katara/Zuko. After that, Mai/Zuko/Katara. There was a one-episode Aang/Katara/Jet thing going. There's the (to me, anyway) ongoing Suki/Sokka/Yue's spirit or memory or whatever. I think there's also enough hints to infer one between Ozai, Zuko's mother, and Iroh, but that one's pretty speculative.
