Mako is being kind of a jerk, though. Boo.

Mako seriously needs to cool it down.

Though it is pretty funny to have Lin go off the rails in ep 7 after all the meta here about how much more establishment LoK is than TLA. (Which is still true, but less so if Lin actually goes for it.)

As for the possibility of her breakin'-the-law storyline: doubt it'll go all the way through. She might get close, but this whole arc with her and Tenzin getting over old hurts is probably going to wind up in some mutual giving of 'advice that needs to be said even if we gotta spit it out through our teeth'. Tenzin, who was only on the Council with the greatest reluctance (he doesn't seem to particularly like being there) telling Lin to stick with the establishment, and Lin, who's forever irritated with Tenzin's peace-and-patience stance, telling him to be true to himself and not pull anything rash.

A good point, and that definitely works better for me character-wise than rebelliousness out of nowhere.

I like the way Asami's storyline worked out and the fact that she's still part of the main group of kids. However, the reveal on her father left me going "... wait, what?" It's not that the "upstanding citizen in public, member of shady hate group in private" characterization isn't perfectly believable, and it's not even that I can't imagine Asami being unaware of her father's true beliefs. But when you put the two together and then combine them with what we've seen him doing in the show -- being perfectly friendly to his daughter's bender friends and boyfriend, sponsoring the tournament team, going to see their matches ... it just doesn't fit with a prejudice and hatred so deep-seated and virulent that he was actively helping the Equalists wipe them out. I think it would be less weird to me if he'd indicated that he was in it for the money or something like that, but from what he said about his wife's death, he was truly committed to the cause. I'm baffled that, given how he feels about benders, he never said a word about his daughter dating one or inviting them to live in his house or anything like that. I'd have expected that at the very least, he would have filled his daughter's ears with anti-bender talk around the house -- warning her that benders were dangerous and so forth. Yet nothing in Asami's behavior indicates that she's been the recipient of that sort of thing.
Aside from that, though, I really enjoyed the episode and can't WAIT for next episode with everyone living together on Air Temple Island. :D

Oh, also, his sponsorship of the Fire Ferrerts. That action made a lot more sense post-reveal. (And was, honestly, something that had me suspecting him (and Asami, tbh) earlier on). Korra needed to be in that tournament in order to increase the impact of Amon's actions. The police couldn't stop him. The Avatar couldn't stop him. Etc.
