Haiku fest!
Done with season three
Just recently. I loved it--
It's time to fangirl.
I thought it'd be fun
To discuss in haiku form
All of Avatar.
Say you just love Toph,
Or ship Katara/Suki.
Ask who Pakku is.
Best moments of all?
Does fall see nations at peace?
Let's talk Zuko's hair.
Come squee, chat, digress.
Comments go here to commence:
Haiku Comment Fest.
Fear not the haiku.
Sokka said, "This is easy,"
Circa season two.
(Mods, if this breaks rules,
Please delete it. Otherwise,
What rhymes with okka?)

This is what happens when I check my dwircle when I'm jetlagged
be contained by seventeen
paltry syllables
Beyond that, hmm, let me think.
I love that a simple kid's show
was so deep and clever
Plus Toph is awesome
(And what else needs to be said?
Refrigerator)
Re: This is what happens when I check my dwircle when I'm jetlagged
Avatar is just for kids . . .
The best tales transcend.
(Refridgerator
Does need to be said, quite true.
Also, rhubarb pie.)
Re: This is what happens when I check my dwircle when I'm jetlagged
you don't need sex or violence
to tell a good tale
(My lit teacher said
Real haikus mention nature.
So: Melbourne is cold)
Re: This is what happens when I check my dwircle when I'm jetlagged
not to mention violence
the ficcers get bored.

Also...
Which confused this sleepy Ocker(*)
Since what has rhyming got to do
with word choice when writing haiku?
(*)While checking if this term was too
Obscure for foreigners like you
I found the word's true meaning
Is not just "aussie", but demeaning
Instead one could, say, change this shocker
to "punk rocker" or to "locker"
(the internet also said "gawker"
and long terms like "histamine blocker"
But on the whole I've come a crocker
looking for words that rhyme with Sokka
And now I understand why you
chose sensibly to use haiku
Re: Also...
Is what Sokka said. See please,
"Tales of Ba Sing Se".
Re: Also...
And now I feel quite silly.
Well, never mind then :)
Re: Also...
no subject
is the show that has it all!
Brilliantly written,
it far exceeds the
standards of not just children's
programs, but also
most Western TV.
(Admittedly the bar is
rather low. But still.)
More importantly,
however, it mashes down
all my squee buttons.
I'm a sucker for
families of circumstance.
Also for friendship,
love, sacrifice, hope ...
not to mention world-building ...
It's all in this show!
And do not get me
started on redemption arcs.
As much as I wish
I could let go my
most unseemly love of them,
it's a hopeless cause.
So. Yes. Avatar.
Not just my favorite show
at the moment, but
possibly one of
my favorites of all time.
Can haz sequel now?
no subject
About arcs of redemption?
They can teach us much.
Most of all I find
These arcs teach us compassion.
All have good inside.
The ethics involved
Make me squee. This show might be
My favorite too.
And this is why I don't write haikus
I wouldn't recognize you
Except for your scar.
Re: And this is why I don't write haikus
especially the emo-mop.
A mind of its own. :)
Re: And this is why I don't write haikus
Actor!Zuko's hair was long.
Was he a porn star?
Re: And this is why I don't write haikus
Re: And this is why I don't write haikus
Now his honor's been restored?
Oh well. Nice hair clip.

in a world of bending, I
return to Basho.
That well-known old pool --
Badgerfrog cannot jump in:
water is frozen.
Training or combat
often fails to consider
the local wildlife.
no subject
This Basho of which you speak.
Name the episode?
no subject
this dude and his frog poem:
Matsuo Basho.
Edo period.
No Avatar cameo
(unless I missed it).
no subject
pondered, too, watching them stomp
about. Poor earthworms!
On the desert's edge
bending is a different art,
an art of seeing.
Garish seems the ice floe's crash.
Behold, instead, a dewdrop.
Morning ablutions:
Katara wicks dew from leaves
to wash her face, then,
mindful to restore balance,
sends it back to thirsty roots.
no subject
opposites of each other,
Earth and wind are too.
But the Avatar,
finds harmony between them,
and is totes badass.
A tale of wonder,
just some kids and a flying bison,
against the fire world.
How can you not love
it is epically awesome,
plus there is Iroh.
no subject
Would be the awesomest part!
But the rest compares.
no subject
he is both legendary,
and too cute for words.
no subject
Although I love everyone,
Just he made me cry.
A question
Sokka-Suki Zuko-Mai
Where is Toph's lover?
Re: A question
She is complete in herself,
no boyfriend needed.
Re: A question
None really needs a boyfriend.
Well . . . maybe Zuko.
Re: A question
Re: A question
few men could meet the challenge:
she can have Iroh.
Mostly, I admit
such large age gaps squick me, but
think of the awesome!
